marks the 89th birthday of Cesar Chavez. Mr. Chavez was a civil rights,
Latino and farm labor leader. While his childhood school education was
not the best, later in life, education was his passion. He believed
that, "The end of all education should surely be service to
others," a belief that he practiced until his untimely death.
Our mission at
Community Family Centers is to equip families with the tools they need
to become self-sufficient members of the community. We strive to
achieve our mission and educate our clients through each of our four
core programs because we understand and value the importance of
advancement through lifelong learning.
fostering the importance of education with children as young as three
years old through the Los Ninos Early Childhood
Montessori Program. Our Youth Services Program
offers prevention education and intervention during the academic school
year to students ages 5-17 at eighteen HISD schools in
Houston’s Greater East End. Our Family Support Services
Program educates the community through a wide range
of comprehensive support services within the agency’s continuum of
care. Our Adult Education Program
provides courses of instruction to individuals 18 years of age or older
to gain the skills and education necessary to achieve self-sufficiency
and a higher standard of living. Courses offered include English as a
Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), and General
Educational Development Diploma (GED).
