Many thanks to Julio Zaldizar, Community Outreach for Molina Healthcare, who delivered $1000 worth of supplies to CFC. We were proud to be selected out of 20 other well-deserving organizations.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Oak Farms Dairy who held a Christmas Food Drive that will benefit the families served by Community Family Centers.  We enjoyed welcoming them to CFC and look forward to collaborating with them on future projects!

Thank you to Camara de Empresarios Latinos de Houston for hosting a toy drive during their Christmas Breakfast held on December 14 that will benefit the children served by Community Family Centers.  We greatly appreciate the support of our friends at CELH and look forward to our continued partnership in 2017.

These warm-hearted firefighters delivered a very much appreciated donation of nonperishable food items that will benefit the families we so proudly serve in Houston's East End community. Thanks to the Houston Hispanic Firefighters for their generosity!

On Saturday December 10 over fifty ExxonMobil Houston Campus employees and members of their families packed nearly 1000 holiday boxes as part of their United Way of Greater Houston Day of Caring!  The boxes will be distributed to families in need this Christmas.  Thank you for continuing this yearly tradition, ExxonMobil!

The City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD), in partnership with Keep Houston Beautiful and DRC Emergency Services, Inc., celebrated the spirit of giving this holiday season by donating 50 bicycles to boys and girls between the ages of 6-12. A huge thank you to Council Member Robert Gallegos, District I, for inviting CFC to the reception and distribution of bikes on December 16 and for awarding a bicycle to Community Family Centers.  And thank you to Ashley Turner, First Daughter of the City of Houston for her hospitality.

Joe Sandoval and Domingo Ovalle held their annual Christmas party and collected toys that will brighten the holidays of children served by CFC.  We are greatly appreciative of this donation and thank them for their generosity.

On December 9, Nicole Longnecker Gallery  held the opening of solo shows for Nicole Pietrantoni and Julian Lorber.  During the opening, the gallery accepted donations of sweaters, hats, gloves, toiletry samples, children’s toys and games for Community Family Centers.  Many thanks to, Nicole Longnecker for making this possible!

Yes, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.

At Community Family Centers we believe.  We believe in giving children and adults access to high quality education.  We believe in making nutritious food readily available to our neighbors in need. We believe in working with our partners to find our families every resource available to them.

We believe in each other, a team who stops at nothing to lend a helping hand.  We believe in our volunteers who give selflessly of their time and talents.  We believe in our benefactors; individuals, corporations and foundations, whose generosity and devotion allow us to fulfill our mission.

We believe the New Year will bring great success to our agency and we believe that together we can combat poverty, hunger, and illiteracy in Houston.  We thank you for believing in us and allowing us to be a beacon of hope in this community.

Happy Holidays,

Maritza Guerrero

With Heartfelt Appreciation

Thank you to all of the amazing people who helped make CFC’s 2016 “Families First” Luncheon a great success!

Fridays at CFC

Welcome back, Regis School of the Sacred Heart!

Thank you to The Regis School of the Sacred Heart's 6th grade class for returning to Community Family Centers for their Fall Social Awareness Day.  They helped distribute food to over 641 families! What makes this volunteer experience even more powerful is that the boys pray for the people being served beforehand and journal about the service work upon completion.

ACE Mentor Program of Houston

Build It Forward

There’s a new place to sit in the CFC lobby thanks to ACE Mentor Program of Houston.   On December 3, 2016 ACE Mentor Program of Houston held the 5th Annual Build it Forward Fundraiser in which over 100 students and industry professionals partnered to build storage benches for local charities.  We were delighted to be selected as the recipients of a bench and welcome you to stop by and see the wonderful craftsmanship and love that went into making it.  Great job, Team 11!

Congregation Beth Israel

Sharing the Warmth

Thank you to Congregation Beth Israel - Houston, TX for hosting a coat drive that collected over 150 coats for children and adults.
