Parents of the youth enrolled in our Youth Programs and community members can enroll in our Positive Action (research base curriculum) Parenting Program, which will provided opportunities to explore developmental asset-rich activities that includes self-assessment tools, character building and goal setting. Our holistic approach includes health and wellness activities, such as aerobics and nutrition classes, to help combat obesity and diabetes. Leisure-time activities such as field trips, arts and crafts will also be provided. One- hour classes will be conducted on Tuesdays from 8:30am-11:30am and Fridays from 8:30a.m.-11:30a.m. On Thursdays at Mission Milby from 8:30am-11:00am. In a relaxed atmosphere participants and instructor will be working together. Participants will be able to follow their progress through functional evaluations made at the time of enrollment and again at quarterly intervals. Parents will receive periodic blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings and Body Mass Index evaluations. Volunteers playing a vital role in the services we provide.
